We thought we’d give a quick update on our second sowing of sugar snap peas. These having been growing away well since we planted them out, so fingers crossed it stays that way. It’s always a bit hit and miss as the weather starts to turn cooler at nights again and the days start getting shorter, so fingers crossed!
This is a photo from a couple of weeks ago. As you can see, the plants seem to be growing strong, but have a tendency to lean towards the bird netting we’ve thrown over to deter the pigeons, rather than climbing up the wire mesh we’ve provided for them to climb up!

Before they got too entangled, we carefully eased the netting away and held this down further away from the plants. We then tried to persuade the pea plants to use the wire mesh as a climbing frame going forward!

And here’s the finished product!
