Now our peppers are in their final pots, they need supporting to prevent them being blown over by the wind, and also to support the plant once laden with peppers – as they can get quite heavy!
We put a cane in a couple of inches away from the base of each plant, and pushed this in to the bottom of the container. We then tied each pepper plant to the cane loosely, as we do with tomatoes and cucumbers.
The canes are also tied to a framework made from wood to make sure they stay upright and the plants don’t just fall over, cane and all!
This is one of the Basket of Fire plants. Very excited to try these chillies out – they are certainly setting well, so fingers crossed for an abundance of chillies in a little while.
